OUR MISSION
 
The mission of the Gonzales High School counseling program is to empower all students to reach their fullest potential by providing a comprehensive school counseling program to facilitate their academic, career, social, and emotional development. Collaboration and cooperation between counselors, students, faculty, administrators, parents, and the community will provide a safe and caring environment to assist all students in becoming responsible and productive lifelong learners.
 
SCHOOL COUNSELING GOALS
 
The Counseling Team supports the student’s academic, social emotional, and college/career development. As a school counselor, we advocate for ALL students. We provide services through individual meetings, classroom lessons, and collaboration with school and community partners.

A-G / College Entrance Requirements

The A-G / College Entrance Requirements are a sequence of high school courses that students must complete (with a grade of C or better) to be minimally eligible for admission to the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU). They represent the basic level of academic preparation that high school students should achieve to undertake university work.

covered in elementary and advanced algebra, and two- and three-dimensional geometry. 
D Laboratory Science

2 (3 rec)

3 2 Two years of laboratory science providing fundamental knowledge in at least two of these three disciplines: biology, chemistry, and physics.
E Language Other Than English

Two years of the same language other than English. 
F Visual & Performing Arts 1

One year, including dance, drama/theater, music, or visual art.
G College Preparatory Elective 1 - - One year (two semesters), chosen from additional “A-F” courses

have been approved solely for use as “G” electives.

  • Starting Fall 2024, all students will be required to have a 2.0 GPA for graduation requirements. 
  • Starting with the Class of 2028, students will be required to have 40 hours of community sevice as part of their graduation requirements.
